Settle into stillness... eyes softly closed...

Take a breath in...

And as you breathe out, let your jaw loosen... let the small muscles around your eyes soften...

Today, we practice the art of letting go. And we begin with the hands.

Turn your attention to your hands. Make fists — gently, firmly — and squeeze. Hold that tension... really feel it...

Now, slowly, let the fingers uncurl. Let the hands fall open, palms up, completely empty.

Feel the difference? That difference — between grasping and open — is the whole teaching.

You cannot hold water in a closed fist. The tighter you squeeze, the faster it runs through your fingers. But an open palm can carry an entire ocean.

Now scan the body slowly, from the top of your head down, looking for places where you are making a fist — places you didn't even know were clenched.

The forehead... let it be like a smooth lake.

The jaw... let the teeth part slightly.

The shoulders... let them melt downward.

The belly... let it be soft, breath moving it freely.

The hands... open.

The mind grips, too. We hold our worries the way we hold things we're afraid to drop — as if constant gripping is what keeps them from being lost, and as if losing them would be a disaster.

But watch what happens when you stop gripping a thought. Does it shatter? Does the sky fall?

Or does it simply... drift... like everything else does, once we stop holding?

With your next exhale, choose one thing you've been gripping. It doesn't matter what — a worry, a grudge, a plan, an expectation. Feel its weight, honestly, one last time.

And as you breathe out... open the hand... and let it go.

You don't need to push it away. You don't need to throw it. Letting go is not another effort — it is the end of effort. It is simply... opening the hand.

Notice the space that remains. The openness. The quiet. This space was always here, underneath the gripping — like the sky is always here, underneath the weather.

For the rest of your day, whenever you feel that old clench — in the shoulders, the jaw, the mind — you don't need to fight it. Just remember the hands. Open the fist. Let the water rest in the open palm.

One deep breath in...

And a long, complete release out.

Let your eyes slowly open.
