Welcome. Find a position where your body can settle and be still... Let your eyes gently close.
Take a deep breath in... and let it go, slowly... Again — breathe in... and release... One more time — breathe in... and as you exhale, allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears.
There is a secret hidden inside you, and it is so close, so obvious, that you have walked past it a thousand times.
You are not your thoughts.
Notice, right now, that a thought is moving through your mind. Perhaps it says something about this moment... about your body... about what happened earlier today. And notice — you can see it. You can watch it arrive. You can watch it pass.
Now ask yourself a simple question: who is watching?
You are like the sky. Thoughts are like clouds. Some are dark and heavy. Some are bright and racing. Some drift slowly, some storm across the whole horizon. But the sky is never harmed by the clouds. The sky does not fight them. The sky simply contains them.
And you are the sky.
So for these few minutes, don't try to stop your thoughts. Trying to stop thoughts is like trying to smooth water with an iron — you will only make more waves. Simply watch.
A thought arises... you watch it arise. A thought passes... you watch it pass. No judgment. No label. Not "good thought," not "bad thought." Just... thought. Moving. Like traffic on a distant road.
Now bring your attention gently to your breath. Don't change it. Just watch it, the way you'd watch a small animal come to drink at a stream — with quiet, patient attention.
The breath comes in... you are there, watching.
The breath goes out... you are there, watching.
And here is the beautiful thing: the watcher and the watching are made of the same stillness. The observer is the observing. Awareness, aware of itself.
This witness is always here. It never ages. It was here when you were a child. It will be here tomorrow. It is the one part of you that has never been worried, never been hurried, never been anything but present.
In a moment, you'll open your eyes and return to your day. But try to carry this with you: whatever happens today — noise, pressure, emotion — you can always step back into the sky. You can always, in one single breath, become the witness again.
Take one deep breath in...
And as you breathe out, let your eyes slowly open.
Well done — you stayed.
You can carry on with Life Is Music, Not a Journey whenever you're ready. There is no hurry.
