Transcript

Settle into a comfortable seat... or lie down... Let your eyes close softly... and let your hands rest wherever they naturally fall.

Take a slow breath in... hold it gently at the top... and let it go, like a sigh...

Consider this: if the whole point of a piece of music were the final chord, the conductor would rush. The musicians would sprint through every passage just to arrive at the end. And yet no one plays a symphony that way — because we understand, without being told, that music isn't going anywhere. The point of music is the music. The point of the dance is the dancing.

And yet... we live our lives as if we were traveling somewhere important. As if, at the end, there will be an arrival. A moment when we finally get there — there being success, security, enlightenment, the perfect version of ourselves.

But look closely... You planned for a future moment just now, didn't you? A thought that said after this, then that. And that thought — where did it live? Not here. Not in this moment. It lived in an imagined tomorrow.

Now listen to the sounds around you. Whatever they are — distant traffic, a hum, the room itself. Don't name them or judge them. Just let them play.

Every sound arises and passes. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end — and it was never going anywhere. It was simply being played.

Your breath is like this too. The inhale is not a mistake on the way to the exhale. The exhale is not an obstacle between exhales. Each phase is complete in itself, exactly as it happens.

Feel your body breathing now. In... and out... And notice: you don't have to conduct it. You don't have to arrive anywhere with your breath. It is already performing itself, perfectly, without your help.

So here is the invitation for these remaining minutes: stop traveling. Just for now. Put down the destination. Let this moment be the whole symphony — the full chord, complete, needing nothing.

Breathe in — this is the music.

Breathe out — this is the music.

The days ahead will pull you forward. That's fine — let them. But perhaps now and then you'll remember: you were never on a journey to somewhere. You are the music, playing itself.

One more full breath in...

And let it go, unhurried.

Let your eyes open slowly.
